After all, how hard can it really be to fill in a few surveys? Others, however, remain skeptical. Are there companies that really pay you just for your opinion? Surely they're no more than scams. And, indeed, this may be true of some. In this article we will look at how to avoid scam paid survey sites.

Use your Common Sense

Be wary of any company that promises to make you money. Even legitimate paid survey sites are not get rich quick schemes. Whilst it is true that you can get paid for completing surveys, it takes a long time to make money and even then earnings are low. If a site promises that you'll make a guaranteed income per week or month, then it is likely a scam. You will only make money if you complete surveys and if there are surveys available. Even then, the likelihood of making £20 or more a month is slim. If a company is promising you'll make hundreds of pounds simply from filling out surveys, then it is best you avoid it.

Do your Research

It is likely the scam site will have lots of testimonials and reviews from supposed clients about how good the site is and how much money they make. Never take such reviews at face value as they could always be made up. Research the company outside of the site itself. If it is a scam site, a quick search should show you warnings from other people who have been caught out. There are also dedicated 'scam busting' websites which aim to expose such survey sites. Always check these before signing up.

Never Pay Anything to a Survey Company

Legitimate paid survey sites never ask for a signing up fee. If a site does, it is likely to be a scam. In all probability, you will never see you money again and you will never get paid for any work that you do undertake. You would not expect to have to pay to get a job in an office so why should online jobs be any different?

Check what you are Signing Up For

It is vitally important that you read the terms and conditions before signing up to any survey site. You must understand what you are signing up for. Check when and how you will be paid. A lot of scam sites have a payout limit which is often excessively high. These companies set their limits high so there is little chance that people will earn enough to ever receive payment. If there is anything that you do not understand in the terms, contact the company. If they do not get back to you or are vague when they do so it is best to avoid signing up at all.
